Melben is recruiting a precision grinder for a manufacturer in Cincinnati, OH. This is a full-time direct-hire position on the employer's payroll, with one opening. The start date is flexible. Pay starts from $20 per hour, depending on experience.
The work centers on precision grinding of machined parts on machine tools: cylindrical, OD, ID, centerless or surface grinding, held to tight tolerances. The shop also has chrome plating work, so the hire may be placed on chrome plating or precision grinding depending on the candidate's background. Confirm the priority with the recruiter when you apply.
Candidates need dated, hands-on time running precision grinding machines. Snag grinding and hand grinding do not count toward this role. Applicants who are completely new to the trade will not be considered.
Responsibilities
- Set up and run precision grinding machines to part drawings
- Hold tight dimensional tolerances on finished ground surfaces
- Check parts with precision measuring tools and gauges
- Keep grinding wheels, dressing and coolant in good condition
- Support chrome plating work where assigned
Requirements
- Dated work running precision grinding machines on machine tools
- Previous precision grinding experience, not snag or hand grinding
- Able to read blueprints and measure to tight tolerances
- Not a beginner: must have real shop experience
