A manufacturer in Dayton, Ohio is hiring an experienced CNC machinist for its milling department. This is skilled work on close-tolerance parts: the shop wants someone who can take a job from print to finished part and stand behind the result.
Pay runs from $17 to $35 an hour and is set by what you can actually do. The top of that range is real, and it is there for a machinist who can set up, program and troubleshoot without being walked through it.
This is a direct-hire position on the employer's payroll from day one, not a temp placement. The target start is around the beginning of September.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC mills on close-tolerance work
- Read and work to blueprints and GD&T
- Select tooling, set offsets and prove out first articles
- Edit and troubleshoot programs at the control
- Inspect your own work with mics, calipers and indicators
Requirements
- Hands-on CNC milling experience in a machine shop
- Able to read blueprints and hold tight tolerances
- Comfortable setting up jobs and proving them out
- Able to work on site in Dayton, OH
