CNC Machinist work in Salem, OH. This is a direct-hire, first-shift position, four days a week, with one opening. The employer on the payroll is a manufacturer in the Salem area. The start date is flexible, so the timing can be discussed with the shop.

The job is to set up, run and check parts on CNC mills and lathes. You will read prints, load programs, set tooling and work offsets, and measure finished parts with calipers, micrometers and other gauges to make sure they meet the drawing. Good math skills matter here, since most setups come down to angles, tolerances and simple geometry.

Pay runs from $15 to $25 per hour, depending on experience. Recruitment is handled by Melben, a staffing agency that places skilled trades in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and run CNC mills and lathes
  • Read blueprints and follow process instructions
  • Load tooling and set work offsets
  • Measure and inspect parts to print tolerances
  • Keep the machine and work area clean and safe

Requirements

  • Decent proficiency in math
  • Experience running CNC mills and/or lathes
  • Ability to read prints and measuring tools
  • Reliable attendance for a four-day schedule
