Filled recently, and what they paid

  • Industrial Maintenance Technician (Hydraulics), Massillon, OH: $25 to $30 an hour, posted September 2026
  • Maintenance Technician (Entry Level), Jackson, OH: $19.32 to $21.97 an hour, posted September 2026
  • Entry Level Machinist, Eaton, OH: $21 to $41 an hour, posted August 2026

The work

An entry level machinist job usually starts with loading parts, running the machine and checking parts against the print with calipers and micrometers. Setups and offsets come later, as the shop trains you.

A maintenance trainee starts beside a senior technician on lubrication, belts, bearings and simple electrical work, then moves on to hydraulics and controls.

Shops hiring for these jobs look for mechanical sense, steady attendance and the willingness to learn. A trade school certificate helps, and it is rarely required.
