Ohio Skilled Trades Pay Report, Q4 2026

Updated October 23, 2026

These are the hourly pay ranges Ohio manufacturers set on 104 real job orders they gave Melben since July 15, 2026, across the 4 trades below. Each job order counts once, at the middle of its pay range, and a trade or city is shown only when it has at least 5 job orders. The numbers are recounted every day.

Median hourly pay in Ohio

  • CNC Machinist

    $27.25

an hour, from 62 job orders

  • Welder

    $24.25

an hour, from 20 job orders

  • Maintenance Technician

    $27.50

an hour, from 13 job orders

  • Production Operator

    $21.50

an hour, from 9 job orders

Pay by trade and city

Statewide counts every Ohio job order for the trade. City lines count only job orders located in that city. "Too few" means fewer than 5 job orders, so no number is shown.

Methodology

  • Source: the hourly pay ranges employers set on job orders they gave Melben, a recruitment agency. These are offers on real openings, not self-reported salaries or survey answers.
  • Window: job orders from the last 12 months. The oldest order counted here is from July 15, 2026.
  • Math: each job order counts once, at the middle of its range (a starting rate alone counts as itself). The median is the middle of those midpoints, and the middle half runs from the 25th to the 75th percentile. Typical start and top are the medians of the bottoms and tops of the ranges.
  • Updates: an automated recount runs every day, so a number changes when a new job order changes it.
  • Minimum sample: a trade, statewide or in a city, is shown only with at least 5 job orders.
  • Excluded: salaried and other non-hourly orders, orders with no pay set, hourly figures over $300 (a yearly or weekly number entered by mistake), sales roles, and roles that match no trade.
  • Privacy: listings are blind. No employer is named, and the published table has no column that could carry a company name.
