Melben is recruiting an entry level Tool and Die Maker in Ashtabula, OH for a direct hire, full time position on the employer's payroll. This is an apprentice-style role for someone starting out in the trade who is ready to learn how dies, molds, jigs and fixtures are built and repaired in a working shop.

The work centers on building and maintaining the tooling that runs production. You will learn to read prints, measure to tight tolerances, fit and finish parts by hand, and work alongside experienced toolmakers who will show you the trade step by step. Background with CNC machines is preferred, so anyone who has run a mill or lathe will have an advantage.

Pay starts at $19 per hour and goes up to $23 per hour depending on experience. The start date is flexible. Apply through Melben and a recruiter will be in touch to confirm the details.

Direct hire means you go on the employer's payroll from day one. Melben is the recruiter, not the employer, and our fee is paid by the company. We verify your certifications with documented proof before we submit you, so the employer does not have to question them in the interview.
