Melben is hiring two welders for a direct-hire role at a manufacturer in East Palestine, Ohio. This is a full-time position on the employer's payroll, paying $18 to $24 per hour depending on experience. You will work first shift, 5:30 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Thursday, about 40 hours per week.
The work is hands-on fabrication. You will weld steel plate and structural steel, working both horizontal and vertical positions and reading weld symbols from prints. Fit-up of your own parts from prints is part of the job, and running an overhead crane to move material is useful experience to bring.
To apply, you need a dated welding job or a finished welding school or trade school welding program. You must be working in the hands-on welding trade, not mainly as a weld inspector, welding supervisor or foreman, or engineer. Melben will review your history and pass your details to the employer.
Responsibilities
- Weld structural steel and steel plate to print
- Weld in horizontal and vertical positions
- Read weld symbols and fit up parts from prints
- Operate an overhead crane when needed
- Keep your work area and equipment clean and safe
Requirements
- Hands-on welding experience, or a finished welding program
- Ability to read prints and weld symbols
- Comfortable working first shift, 5:30 AM to 4 PM, Monday to Thursday
- About 2 years or more of industrial welding preferred
