Melben is hiring a CNC Lathe Setup Operator and G-code Programmer in Cleveland, OH for a manufacturer in the area. This is a direct-hire position on the employer's payroll, with one opening. Pay is $25 to $35 per hour, depending on experience. The start date is flexible.
The role covers the full job on the lathe: setting up the machine, loading and changing tooling, dialing in offsets, and running first-piece checks against the print. You will also write and edit G-code programs, including programming at the machine from drawings. Hands-on experience with CNC lathe setup and programming is the core requirement.
This is a first shift position, Monday to Friday, with eight-hour days starting between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m. Reliable transportation to the day shift is needed. Melben will coordinate the next steps with you directly.
Responsibilities
- Set up CNC lathes for production runs
- Write, edit and verify G-code programs
- Program at the machine from drawings
- Change tooling and set tool offsets
- Inspect first pieces and adjust to print
- Keep the machine running and log production
Requirements
- Dated hands-on CNC lathe setup and programming experience
- Ability to read drawings and blueprints
- Able to start a day shift between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m.
- Reliable transportation to the Cleveland, OH facility
