Melben is recruiting a Strategic Sourcing Manager for a manufacturer in Maumee, OH. This is a direct-hire, full-time role on the employer's payroll, with one opening and a first-shift schedule. The employer is flexible on the start date.
The role centers on sourcing components and materials for the facility, with a strong focus on international supply. The successful candidate will have sourcing experience abroad, including work overseas, and hands-on experience managing tariffs. Experience developing standard operating procedures is required, so the right person will be comfortable turning sourcing work into clear, repeatable processes.
The pay is $1 per hour, a set amount. Candidates who need visa sponsorship may be considered, and willingness to travel to China is useful. Melben will confirm the requirements with the hiring manager before candidates are presented.
Responsibilities
- Source parts and materials, including from overseas suppliers
- Manage tariff exposure and the cost impact on purchasing
- Negotiate with suppliers and manage supplier performance
- Write and maintain SOPs for the sourcing process
- Coordinate with plant operations on supply needs and lead times
Requirements
- Strong international sourcing experience, including sourcing work abroad
- Experience with tariffs
- Experience developing standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Stable work history, ideally about five years at one company
