Melben is recruiting an Outside Sales Representative in Maumee, OH for a manufacturer of production workholding and custom fixture solutions. This is a direct hire role on the employer's payroll, one opening, paying a set salary of $35,000 per year, on first shift.

The job is to take workholding and custom fixture work to manufacturers in the area. You will talk with shop owners, engineers and buyers about their parts, quote jobs, and help them choose or design the right fixture or jig to run their machines faster and more accurately. Candidates need at least 2 years of experience, including hands-on CNC work such as running, setting up or programming mills, lathes or machining centers, plus customer facing experience in sales, quoting, estimating, purchasing or technical support.

Strong candidates will bring outside, technical or industrial sales experience, or experience building fixtures, jigs or tooling and explaining machining to operators and customers. The employer is open to discussing a move into sales with some travel, with base pay of $35,000 plus commission. Ask about this during the call.

Responsibilities

  • Visit and call manufacturers to find workholding and fixture needs
  • Review drawings and parts to quote custom fixture solutions
  • Explain machining setups and workholding options to customers and engineers
  • Build and maintain customer accounts and follow-up
  • Work with the in-house team on design and delivery timelines

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience
  • Hands-on CNC machining work: running, setting up or programming mills, lathes or machining centers
  • Customer facing experience in sales, quoting, estimating, purchasing or technical support
  • Ability to read prints and discuss machining processes clearly
