Melben is recruiting a CNC Lathe Programmer for a manufacturer in Painesville, Ohio. This is a direct-hire, full-time role on the employer's payroll, with one opening on first shift. Pay is $25 to $35 per hour, depending on experience. The employer is flexible on the start date.
The work is hands-on CNC lathe work. You will set up lathes, write new programs or edit existing ones, and run the parts to print. Tight tolerances are part of the job, with work held between 0.005 and 0.0005 inch. Knowledge of mills alongside lathes is useful but not required.
We are looking for a machinist who has already done dated, hands-on CNC lathe work that includes setup and programming or editing programs. Candidates who live in Painesville or are willing to commute from nearby will be considered. Mazak and Mazatrol experience is a strong advantage for this role.
Responsibilities
- Set up CNC lathes for production runs
- Write and edit lathe programs
- Run parts to print and hold tight tolerances
- Check parts with precision measuring tools
- Troubleshoot programs and machine setups on first shift
Requirements
- Dated hands-on CNC lathe work with setup and programming or editing programs
- Experience holding tolerances between 0.005 and 0.0005 inch
- Ability to read blueprints and work to print
- Reliable attendance on first shift
