Melben is placing a CNC Machinist for a turning role in Fairfield, Ohio. This is a full-time, direct-hire position on the employer's payroll, with one opening and a flexible start date. The work is running CNC lathes to cut parts to print, checking them against the drawing, and keeping the machine producing good parts through the shift.
This job is a hands-on operator role with programming built in. The shop expects the machinist to write or edit their own programs, set up the lathe, and make adjustments on the floor, so candidates should be comfortable with both the machine and the code behind it. Lathe experience is the priority. Candidates with mill-only backgrounds will not be the right fit for this role.
The pay range is $22 to $31 per hour, depending on experience. The position is based in Fairfield, Ohio, so you will need to be able to work at that site on first shift.
Responsibilities
- Set up and run CNC lathes for turned parts
- Write and edit CNC programs at the machine
- Read prints and hold tight tolerances
- Measure and inspect parts with standard gauges and tools
- Adjust tooling and offsets to keep production on target
Requirements
- Hands-on CNC lathe experience, which is the priority
- Programming experience, writing or editing your own programs
- Ability to work from blueprints and drawings
- Able to work at the Fairfield, Ohio site on first shift
