A precision job shop in Cincinnati, Ohio is adding a CNC machinist to its lathe and milling departments. The work is high-mix and low-volume: prototypes, repair parts and small to medium production runs.
They want someone who sets up, edits and runs their own jobs, not a button pusher. Programming from scratch is ideal, but solid program editing at the machine is enough to be considered.
This is a direct-hire, full-time position.
Responsibilities
- Set up and run CNC lathes and 3-axis and 4-axis vertical mills
- Program, edit and run jobs at the machine
- Read blueprints and GD&T, and pick tooling and fixturing to hold tolerance
- First-piece and in-process inspection with calipers, micrometers, bore gauges and CMM
- Machine steel, stainless, cast iron, aluminum, exotics and plastics
- Basic machine maintenance and a clean, safe work area
Requirements
- 3 to 5 or more years of CNC machining experience
- Able to set up, run and program or edit CNC jobs
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T
- High-mix, low-volume shop experience
- Fanuc, Haas or Mazak controls preferred
- GibbsCAM or Fusion 360 preferred
