Melben is recruiting a Spot Welder II for a manufacturer in San Jose, CA. This is a direct-hire position, meaning you go straight onto the employer's payroll from day one. The work involves resistance spot welding on metal assemblies in a production environment.

You will be working with sheet metal components, setting up and operating spot welding equipment, and checking your own work against quality standards. Consistent weld placement, clean joints, and attention to fit-up are what matter here. This is hands-on production welding, not fabrication or layout work.

Pay is $30.00 per hour. San Jose has a strong manufacturing base and this shop keeps steady production. If you are a reliable spot welder who takes quality seriously, this is a solid direct-hire opportunity worth your time.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate resistance spot welding equipment
  • Weld sheet metal assemblies to production specifications
  • Inspect welds visually and dimensionally against quality standards
  • Adjust machine settings including pressure, current, and weld time
  • Maintain a clean and organized work cell
  • Flag non-conforming parts and communicate issues to the lead

Requirements

  • Spot welding experience in a production or manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders and basic drawings
  • Understanding of weld settings: amperage, pressure, and timing
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds
  • Steady attendance and consistent production output

Certifications

  • AWS resistance welding certification is a plus
  • Experience with robotic spot welding equipment is a plus
  • Quality inspection or CMM experience is a plus
