Melben is recruiting a CNC Machinist for a direct-hire position at a manufacturer in Rancho Cordova, CA. This role goes directly onto the employer's payroll from day one. The employer is flexible on the start date, so qualified candidates can begin the conversation now without pressure on timing.

The work is hands-on precision machining. You will set up and run CNC mills or lathes, read engineering drawings, select tooling, dial in offsets, and hold tight tolerances on finished parts. This is production and job-shop type work that demands accuracy and ownership of your machine.

Pay runs from $25 to $45 per hour depending on your experience and skill level. If you have a strong background in CNC setup and operation and want steady direct-hire work in the Sacramento area, this is a solid opportunity worth a conversation.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC milling or turning equipment
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T callouts
  • Establish work offsets, tool offsets, and cutting parameters
  • Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting
  • Maintain accurate production records and traveler documentation

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of hands-on CNC machining experience, including setup and operation of VTL, Mazak, and BTH machines
  • Minimum 7 years programming and operating Fanuc and Mazatrol controls
  • Strong blueprint reading with GD&T comprehension
  • Proficiency with precision measuring and inspection instruments
  • Ability to work independently and hold quality standards without close supervision
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Certifications

  • G-code programming is a plus
  • Experience designing and producing fixturing for upcoming jobs is a plus
  • Formal machining or technical training is a plus
